Donald has nevertheless continued to back Parkinson, seen in a number of appointments to the backroom staff and the decision to move Aiden McGeady out of the first-team group ahead of the January window.

Hide AdThat has raised the pressure further ahead of Blackpool’s visit on Saturday, but Parkinson is confident he retains the owner’s support.
“I spoke to the owner last week, we had a meeting up here,” he said.
“I spoke to him again this week on the phone about what we need to do going forward and explaining any decisions I make to the owners, and I think it’s important to do that.”
