The former Sunderland and Leeds United manager is in talks to take an international job

Former Sunderland, Leeds United and Blackpool boss Simon Grayson is in talks regarding a new role in the international scene.

Grayson was appointed to the Stadium of Light hotseat in the summer of 2017 as the Black Cats targeted an instant return to the Premier League.

But things didn’t go to plan for the former Leeds United and Blackpool boss, who was sacked in October with Sunderland languishing at the wrong end of the table.

His successor, Chris Coleman, was also unable to stave off the threat of relegation with the Wearsiders ultimately suffering a second successive drop.

Grayson is reportedly in “preliminary talks” to become the new manager of the India national team, according to Football Insider. Their article states that “negotiations have begun with the ex-Whites manager following the sacking of Igor Stimac on Monday”.

The 54-year-old manager has been out of work since parting ways with Indian Super League side Bengaluru FC last December, where we worked with former Sunderland player and goalkeeping coach David Preece.
