Washington diabetes group is taking great strides
The Washington Diabetes UK Group announced plans for a charity event next month.
The group has organised its Walk For Diabetes on Sunday, September 6, starting at 11am, and lasting for about 90 minutes.

Hide AdIt will start at the new Washington leisure centre, take a route round Princess Anne Park and then return to the leisure centre.
As well as giving a chance for people to make a small donation to the group, it is also an opportunity for people to find out more about the cause.
Group chairman George McLaughlin, said: “It is a little bit of a fundraiser, but it is also gauging whether we should do a bigger one next year.”
The third aim of the day would be to encourage more people to consider becoming members of the group, said Mr McLaughlin.

Hide AdDiabetes can affect many major organs, including the heart, blood vessels, nerves, eyes and kidneys.
Experts believe thousands of people across the country may have the condition and may not realise it.
However, the group is leading the fight to raise awareness.
