Travis Waters clinches national title in devastating style
The 20-year-old won the Class D 69kg welterweight championship at the Club for Young Persons Championship finals in High Wycombe.
He powered to glory with a first-round stoppage against Southern and London champion Corey Kelly (Broad Plain Police, Bristol).

Hide AdKelly, a tall, rangy boxer standing over six feet tall, towered over Waters.
And when the bell sounded for the first round, Kelly looked the aggressor and threw a heavy right hook to the head of Waters which sent him back on his heels.
It was to be his only success though.
Waters got to work and sent in a vicious back hand left and followed with a heavy right hook to the head which sent the Bristol man across the ring,
The Sunderland fighter was quickly onto him, and three more heavy shots to the head had Kelly stumbling against the ropes and forced the referee to jump in to give a count.

Hide AdHowever, Kelly was unable to recover and the referee stopped the contest.
On the way to the final, Waters had beaten European gold medallist John Ruddick (Birtley) and is now certain to receive international recognition for his efforts.
