Date set and entries open for Sunderland City Runs 2027
The date has been set for next year’s Sunderland City Runs as thousands of runners get ready to take part in the popular sporting event.
Sunderland City Runs is taking place on Saturday, May 8 and Sunday, May 9, 2027.
The first Sunderland City 10K was held in 2011 with just over 1,500 participants, with the event last year welcoming 6,000 runners.
Since its launch 15 years ago, Sunderland City Runs has been joined by the Half Marathon and Active Sunderland Big 3K, making it one of the North’s biggest running events.
The weekend will kick off in full swing with a 5K race on Saturday at 6.30pm.
On Sunday, both the 10K and half marathon will take over the city, starting at 10am and 10.25am.
Entries to the 5K, 10K and half marathon are now open, with prices starting at £15.50.
Active Sunderland Big 3K entries are set to open soon.
