A man arrested by police who discovered 200 cannabis plants in his Sunderland home has been bailed.

Officers were called to an address in Zetland Street, in Roker, yesterday, where they found the cannabis farm.

Police found around 100 mature plants and a further 100 small plants in the house.

A 21-year-old man arrested by police has since been bailed pending further inquiries.

The value of the plants is estimated at being around £100,000.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “Police were called to an address in Zetland Street in Sunderland earlier this morning.

“Officers attended and found a cannabis farm. Around 100 mature plants and 100 small plants were found."
