Sunderland man to stand trial accused of manslaughter of Jordan Bell

Mr Bell was found injured in the street outside a nightclub in Holmeside in Sunderland city centre on Friday, July 10.
The 27-year-old was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he underwent emergency surgery for his “extensive” injuries but his life could not be saved and he died two weeks later.

Hide AdDominic Robson, 26, of Birchwood, South Hylton, who is accused of his manslaughter, was due to appear at Newcastle Crown Court this morning.
His attendance was excused due to the coronavirus restrictions on the justice system and a short hearing took place in his absence.
Judge Paul Sloan QC listed the case for trial on February 8 next year.
A plea and case management hearing will be held on November 6, which Robson, who is on conditional bail, will be expected to attend.
