Shocking CCTV footage shows pair set fire to car in random arson attack on Sunderland street

Graham Burlison watched on in horror as flames tore through the front of his Mercedes Benz when the car was targeted in an arson attack.
Footage shows two people, wearing hoodies, walking up to the car on Bradshaw Street, in the Town End Farm area of Sunderland, and setting it alight.

Hide AdThe fire-starting pair then run from the scene as flashes of flames light up the street.
The 25-year-old owner says he was alerted to the arson attack a minute after it started.
His car was destroyed in the blaze which happened at 8.20pm on Sunday, February 16.
In complete shock, Graham said he rushed to try get a hose as fire crews arrived in a matter of minutes.

Hide AdHe said: “I personally didn’t see anything, I just heard screams “your cars on fire”.
“So I ran down the stairs to get the hose pipe but the fire brigade arrived just as I got outside.”
Graham is asking anyone who has any information to come forward and speak to the police.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 8.45pm on Sunday we were alerted by the fire brigade to a car fire on Bradshaw Street, Sunderland.

Hide Ad“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished. Nobody was injured.
“We are currently treating the cause of the fire as suspected arson. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 020827H/20.”
