Boldon - Down Your Way

The Boldon Miners and Community Banner Group will meet in The Robert's Room of Boldon Community Association Centre in New Road, Boldon Colliery, at 7.30pm, on Tuesday, April 5. New members are welcome.

The Happy Shack out-of-school service is now situated in the new Scout Hut in The Grey Horse Car Park in East Boldon. Opening times are 7.15am every week day. Children are collected from school from 3.15pm and are kept until 6pm, Monday to Thursday, and 5.30pm on Fridays. All school in-service days and unexpected school closures are also covered. The Boldon/Jarrow Community Area Forum will meet in The Robert’s Room in Boldon CA on New Road, Boldon Colliery, at 5pm on Thursday, April 14.

Seganainm, the East Boldon local Folk Group, will host the Folk Club at The Grey Horse in East Boldon on Thursday, April 7, at 7.30pm and at the Boldon Cricket Club on Sunderland Road on Thursday, April 14, at 8pm. Both clubs are free admission.

Boldon Auction Galleries, Front Street, East Boldon, will hold an antique and interiors sale on Wednesday, April13, at 10am.

Boldon’s History Group meets tonight in The Grey Horse, East Boldon, at 7pm. Major Anthony Tate will give a talk and presentation on the re-enactment of the First World War War Horse Ride in France in which he took part in 2014 as part of the centenary celebrations. Sue Balmer’s presentation on April 26 in entitled How well do you know your Boldons. Everyone welcome.

East Boldon Methodist Church, on the corner of Bridle Path, will hold a first and third Wednesday coffee morning on Wednesday, April 6, from 10am. There will be a cake stall and bring-and-buy stall.
