It was feared that the sunny weather on Sunday, April 5, could have brought people out into the streets of Sunderland in defiance of the coronavirus lockdown.
To save lives and protect the NHS, the rules are that we can only be out for the following reasons.
Exercising alone, or with members of your household.
Shopping for basic essentials.
Any medical needs, or providing care for a vulnerable person.
Travelling to or from work, but only when you cannot work from home.
