Sunderland Aldi store set to reopen and create new jobs after being closed for refurbishment

The Aldi supermarket, located on Knollside Close, just off Doxford Park Way in Sunderland is set to reopen on Thursday, April 29 at 8am following a refurbishment.
The store closed on Friday, April 23 as part of Aldi’s £500m investment into further improving its stores and services across the UK.

Hide AdThe new-look store will offer increased space, a dedicated British meat and fish section, as well as popular Lacura health and beauty products along with award-winning beers, wines and spirits.
As well as the refurbishment, a further four jobs will be created at the store which already employs 25 people.
Aldi Store Manager Christopher Irving said: “The store is looking fantastic, and we can’t wait to welcome our loyal customers back so they can see it for themselves.

“Customers will notice a few small changes throughout the store to align with social distancing guidelines, ensuring we keep our community safe, and we thank you for the co-operation in ensuring the safety of both our colleagues and customers”.
Following the refurbishment, the store will be open between 8am and 10pm, Monday to Saturday, with reduced hours of 10am to 4pm in operation on a Sunday.
