Overturned vehicle blocking A19 now cleared
Motorists faced early morning delays after a vehicle overturned on the A19.
The Ford Transit van overturned on the northbound section of the A19 near to the A183 Chester Road junction in Sunderland, 9am, today.
It blocked both lanes, however, the junction still remained passable for cars and light goods vehicles.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “Police were called at 9am to an overturned vehicle on the A19 in Sunderland. There are no reports of people being injured.”
The road has since been cleared.
