As clubs look to bolster their ranks, the wheels may be set in motion on a number of incomings and outgoings in the third tier across the course of the day - as clubs across Europe gear-up for deadline day.So what deals could get done today? We take a look at the moves Sunderland, Portsmouth, Ipswich Town and their rivals could complete:
1. Aiden McGeady
The experienced winger has been deemed surplus to requirements at Sunderland and is on the lookout for a new club. Could we see a move come from the blue on this first deadline day? Photo: Charlie Crowhurst
2. Ben Woodburn
The Liverpool midfielder spent last season on loan at Oxford United and looks set for another stint in the third tier. Hull were linked, but manager Grant McCann shot down that link, while Oxford and Portsmouth are also rumoured to be interested. Photo: Lewis Storey
3. Mateo Bajamich
A very, very unlikely one, but for every day the Argentine doesn't sign for Houston Dynamo there remains an ounce of hope that he could end up at Sunderland. It would be a major shock if this did get over the line today, though. Photo: Frank Reid
4. Joe Pigott
Championship side Swansea City are reportedly among Pigott's suitors, with AFC Wimbledon seemingly facing an uphill battle to keep hold of their star man. With just a year left on his current contract, they may want to cash in. Photo: Pete Norton
