Durham City, an ex-Newcastle United youth and Blyth Spartans all feature this week in our picture gallery.
Scroll through the pictures below to see who else features in our new weekly feature for the Sunderland Echo as part of our revamped non-league coverage this season.
Each week Mark will cast his eyes over the big winners and losers from that week.
1. Winners: Graeme Armstrong (Hebburn Town)
The experienced striker has enjoyed a profitable week as he scored four goals in three games to help his side reach the FA Vase Final and claim a valuable home win against Northern League Division One promotion rivals Shildon. Sadly, Armstrong’s final goal of the week wasn’t enough to help Hebburn progress in the FA Cup after they lost a penalty shoot-out against Pontefract Collieries. Photo: CNC PHOTOGRAPHY
2. Winers: Adam Lennox (Jarrow)
The young striker impressed during his first pre-season with Dave Bell’s side but failed to find the net in their opening two league fixtures. However, that all changed at Perth Green on Saturday as Lennox fired a hat-trick to put his side on their way to a 3-1 win against Durham City. Photo: Shay Hughes
3. Winners: Northallerton Town
Not many onlookers could have predicted Northallerton Town’s impressive start to the season. The North Yorkshire outfit sit top of the Northern League Division One table after not conceding a goal in taking seven points from their opening three league games. Photo: Other
4. Winners: West Allotment Celtic
The Northern League Division Two club have only reached the first qualifying round of the FA Cup once in their history – but they doubled that tally with an impressive 3-1 win at Division One club Penrith on Saturday. The Cumbrians were the second top tier scalp that Allotment have taken after they sent Whickham out of the competition in the last round and they will step up two levels to face NPL Premier Division side Hyde United in the first qualifying round.
