A collision between three vehicles on the A19 in Sunderland during rush hour led to delays for motorists earlier this morning.

Northumbria Police was called to the southbound carriageway, close to the A690 Durham Road interchange, at 7.45am today, Thursday, February 25.

CCTV footage shared on Twitter via @NELiveTraffic showed traffic queuing due to the collision, which happened just after the junction and led to a lane being closed off.
