Everyone knows that all Sunderland supporters are aficionados of the great Argentinean author and philosopher, Jorge Louis Borges, 1899-1986.
In the National Reserve Club they seldom speak of anyone else.
One of his best-known gags was about the Falklands War. He likened the conflict to: “Two bald men fighting over a comb.”
