A Sunderland businessman has launched a bid to build a statue to one of the Black Cats' greatest ever heroes.

Sweet shop owner Martin O'Neill and friends are canvassing fellow supporters this weekend on the possibility of creating a statue of the Black Cats’ ‘Player of the Century’ – Charlie Hurley.

But which Sunderland hero would you most like to see honoured with a statue in the city?
