Police confirm a man has died after cliff fall

Emergency services were called to Marsden Bay at 11.10am today, Tuesday, December 1.
The North East Ambulance Service sent four Hazardous Area Response Teams (Hart), a double-crewed ambulance, a rapid response paramedic and two officers.

Hide AdThey then called for support from the Great North Air Ambulance, which sent a helicopter to the incident.
Northumbria Police has confirmed the man died at the scene.
A spokesperson said: “At about 11.10am police received a report that a man had fallen from the cliffs near to Camel Island in South Tyneside.
"Emergency services attended the scene and found the man in question unresponsive at the bottom of the cliffs.
"He has sadly been pronounced dead and officers do not believe there is any third party involvement.
