Women filmed by pervert Sunderland GP may not realise they were victims, law firm believes
Former Sunderland GP Thair Altaii used two mobile phones to capture covert images of female patients during consultations and examinations at his surgery in the city.
Altaii, of White Rocks Grove, Whitburn, denied three offences of voyeurism in relation to two women between 2008 and 2014 but he was convicted by a jury at Newcastle Crown Court in July 2018.

Law firm Ben Hoare Bell LLP are already instructed by victims who know they were filmed by Altaii to pursue claims for damages for the significant distress suffered.
But the firm believes it is possible, given the large number of images taken, that many more women who saw Altaii were covertly filmed yet remain unaware of that fact even today.
Ben Hoare Bell LLP is now looking to identify those women.

"We already represent several victims who know they were filmed by him.
"We believe, however, given the large number of images taken it is possible many more women who saw Thair Altaii were covertly filmed yet remain unaware of that fact even today.
"We feel it is only right that anyone who was a victim of Thiar Altaii’s actions knows this.

"We will then seek the answers they deserve.”
