Meet the lucky otter cub rescued in the run-up to Christmas
The young animal is currently in the care of Blyth Wildlife Rescue after being discovered cold, wet and unwell in the Hexham area of Northumberland.
It is now being nursed back to health before it can be released back into the outdoors.

Hide AdA statement from Blyth Wildlife Rescue said: “The youngster was cold and dehydrated on admission, but has since recovered well and will require further hand rearing until old enough to meet other young otters in the coming months prior to release.
“She is being fed on a diet of milk substitute and small pieces of flaked and skinned salmon while being housed with a sole carer and with minimal human contact to prevent imprinting.”
