A “low-key” service was held at 11am on Saturday, June 27 at the Cenotaph in Terrace Green in Seaham to mark Armed Forces Day.
Event organiser Dave McKenna, from the Seaham Remember Them Fund and ex-army Chaplin Father Kennedy were joined by a bugler Nicola Tempest-Hall and the Houghton-Le-Spring pipe band to mark the day.
Special focus during the service was given to veterans who have worked throughout the coronavirus lockdown.
