Budding young Washington footballers excited to be back on the pitch as rotary club supports Washington Athletic with Mini Kickers sessions
Washington Athletic launched revamped mini kickers sessions for four to seven year old’s coming out of lockdown with help from The Rotary Club of Washington, who provided funding for equipment for the sessions.
The mini kickers sessions have been taking place since the beginning of April and focus on exercise, fun and football with high quality coaching and act as a stepping stone for young people to enter Washington Athletic’s youth teams.

Hide AdThe sessions have provided a way for youngsters to get back into exercise after months of lockdown at the beginning of the year and most importantly, have some fun.
Washington Athletic Club Secretary Terry Rutherford, said: “It’s very important for young children to have opportunities like this. It gives them the chance to exercise, find new friends and gives them something to do which lets them be a part of something with the local community.”
The mini kickers is just one of the vital initiatives The Rotary Club of Washington are funding as they focus on supporting the community.
Rotarian Neil Mconie, said: “The Mini Kickers were delighted to receive a cheque from Rotary Washington as we provide support whenever possible to help with the amazing work that the volunteers do, to encourage the youngsters to get out into the fresh air, have fun, make friends and be part of a team.
