CHILDLINE ADVICE: Take up a challenge and help protect children from abuse

But not all challenges are negative. Childline relies on public donations for 90% of its funding, and, without people taking part in fundraising challenges, we simply wouldn’t be able to support the thousands of children we help each year. If you’re looking for a challenge this year, we need walkers and runners to join #TeamNSPCC - and pound the pavements or countryside to raise pounds for the NSPCC. If you want to enjoy the beautiful British countryside while raising vital funds for the NSPCC, you can even get a discounted registration with our challenges in the Lake District and the Peak District, where you can walk between 25km and 106km, with training plans and support from the NSPCC and expert trainers available to every participant. However, if running is more your thing, we work with 5k, 10k, half and full marathon organisers across the country that provide places for runners of all abilities. Likewise, if you’re a fan of cycling, why not sign up to our Ride 300 challenge and ride 300km in 30 days and raise £100 or more? Whichever way you take part, every £4 raised means one of our Childline volunteers can answer a call, email or message from a child or young person when they need us most, so every £100 means 25 children speak to our Childline counsellors in their darkest hours. We’d love you to join #TeamNSPCC and take part in whichever event or fundraising challenge works for you.
