Man to face trial over allegations he threatened to kill Houghton and Sunderland South MP Bridget Phillipson
and live on Freeview channel 276
Colin Brown, 49, of Percival Street, Sunderland, allegedly made the threat in Sunderland on Monday, December 16, South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court was told at a hearing.
On the same day, he also allegedly made two threats to destroy Ms Phillipson’s constituency office and made an indecent or grossly offensive phone call, the court heard.

Hide AdDistrict Judge Kathryn Meek committed Brown, who entered no pleas to the charges, to Newcastle Crown Court for trial on Tuesday, September 1.
Brown was granted bail on condition he does not contact Ms Phillipson’s office or enter Houghton or go within 50m of any mosque in England and Wales.
He must also not approach Ms Phillipson or attend any public event she may be at.
Ms Phillipson was elected on 2010 and serves as Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury.
