Sunderland-born Zak Waters has put together a series of striking images from the colliery. They are all photographs which he took at the pit in 1991 when he was on a Northumbria University photography course.
Only 100 copies of the 56-page ‘zine’ are being released and pre-orders are now being taken for the £7 publication. It is published by Fistful of Books.
Take a look at another of his impressive works. To find out more and to pre-order a copy of the ‘zine’ visit here.

Does this scene bring back memories of a bygone era? Zak said: "It was my first project at university. I wrote to the NCB asking if I could come down to the pit." Photo: Zak Waters
