Sunderland has now been in a lockdown for almost six weeks – but there are still areas where coronavirus cases are rising and the city has the highest case rare of the seven Tyne and Wear authorities.
The latest figures show 20 out of 36 areas have seen an increase in infections in the latest seven-day period.
Gerry Taylor, executive director of public health and integrated commissioning at Sunderland City Council has said “the number of cases is obviously a concern”.
Here we reveal which neighbourhoods have seen the biggest rise in case rates per 100,000 people between January 28 and February 4.
1. North Hylton
