To celebrate the annual celebration of pizzas, February 9, we've rounded up some of the great places in and around Sunderland slinging great slices of the Italian staple.
5. Fausto Pizza, Marine Walk, Roker
Expect great pizza with a view at Fausto Pizza in Roker. Based within Fausto Coffee, they serve hand-stretched wood fired pizza Tuesdays to Saturdays from 4pm to 10pm.
6. Slice Seaham, Church Street
The original Slice, Slice Seaham is based in a hatch at the back of Church Street. It's open 11.30am to 2.30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12pm to 8pm on Fridays, Saturdays from 12pm to 8pm and Sundays 12pm to 6pm.
7. I Scream for Pizza, Sheepfolds Stables
Not long to wait until I Scream for Pizza opens at the city's new Sheepfolds Stables development. A sister site to the I Scream for Pizza at Newcastle Quayside, it will be one in a number of quality food and drink businesses based at the major £3m venue due to open in late spring / early summer 2024.
8. Log Fire Pizza Co, Barnes Park and other locations
For pizza on wheels, check out the travelling Log Fire Pizza Co who are an excellent choice for pizza on the go. They do regular pop ups at locations such as Barnes Park, Sunderland, East Boldon Library and Readhead Park in South Shields. See their socials for exact days and times.
