Win a print of Seaham's much-loved Tommy statue for your home
We’ve teamed up with North East artist Lucy Kitching to give away a print of her hand-drawn illustration of Tommy who sits proudly on Terrace Green.
Much of Lucy’s work is informed by her home region, with skyline prints of locations such as Durham, Newcastle and Teesside popular sellers on her Etsy page, Lucy Kitch Creative.

Hide AdTommy was her first illustration of a figure and started life as a commission from a customer who wanted a picture of the statue to give as a gift to her grandparents, but he proved so popular Lucy made him a part of her online selling page.
"It’s such a powerful statue and was a bit of a challenge to draw at first, but he’s become one of my favourites,” she explained.
Lucy, who works in fashion forging talent partnerships, began her Etsy shop a couple of years ago, but with lockdown leading to a surge in interest in home decor, it’s proving more and more popular.
With people spending more time at home, many have looked to personalise their home, making wall art sales increase.

Hide AdLucy said: “I really started to notice a difference last May, with more people spending time online and shopping online. As so many people are working from home they want to make it as comfortable as possible and to personalise it more.
“A lot of businesses have suffered because of the pandemic, but a lot of small creative businesses have thrived because of the change in people’s shopping habits.”
