Project director Malcolm Fallow explained: “The Arts Café will provide an additional element to the cultural Infrastructure of the area and will facilitate increased levels of engagement.
"We see it as a step towards breaking down barriers for local people who want to broaden their arts and cultural experiences.”
The venue will also tie in with the established, mainstream operations of East Durham Trust who have done much to alleviate poverty and disadvantage in the area in recent years.

The Arts Café has been made possible thanks to a number of funders, as well as a crowd funding appeal.
The “East Durham Created” Exhibition runs from August 24 to 29, and anyone wishing to attend can book a slot by ringing 0191 5693511 or emailing [email protected]
